Bullying

The Board of Education is committed to creating and maintaining a learning atmosphere which is respectful and supportive and free from harassment, bullying and/or discrimination. Providing a safe school environment where all students and employees, without exception, are treated with respect and dignity, and are free from bullying, intimidation and harassment is one of our highest priorities.

Report a bully to the district.

Child Abuse Notification

If you suspect a child is being abused or maltreated (neglected), report it by calling 1-800-342-3720, a toll-free 24-hour hotline operated by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services. If you believe a child is in immediate danger, call 911 or your local police department.

Code of Conduct

The District’s Code of Conduct is a requirement of Section 100.2 [1] of the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education. School districts are required to adopt a written policy on school conduct and discipline “designed to promote responsible student behavior.”

Dignity for All Students Act (DASA)

The purpose of the Salmon River Central School District Dignity for All Students team is to ensure that all students, regardless of gender, national origin, ethnicity, religions, ability, gender including expression or identity, sex, weight, height, ethnic group, religious practices, and sexual orientation, are provided an environment free from discrimination, harassment, bullying and fear, in order to come to school safely and without impediment to learning from these acts.

Smart Schools Investment Plan

The Smart Schools Bond Act was passed in the 2014-15 Enacted Budget and approved by the voters in a statewide referendum held during the 2014 General Election on Tuesday, November 4, 2014. The Smart Schools Bond Act (SSBA) authorized the issuance of $2 billion of general obligation bonds to finance improved educational technology and infrastructure to improve learning and opportunity for students throughout the State.
